We started Scaffld because the people who build, fix, and maintain the world around us deserve software that actually works for them — not against them.

The Beginning

It started with a clipboard and a missed appointment

In 2022, our co-founder Jess ran a small plumbing crew. She lost a $4,000 job because a sticky note fell off the dashboard. That night she searched for software that could keep her crew organized, send quotes, and take payments — without costing a fortune or requiring an IT degree.

She found tools built for enterprises with 200-person teams. Or free apps that looked like they were designed in 2005. Nothing in between.

"I didn't want a suite of tools. I wanted one app that made my crew look professional and kept food on the table."

So she called her friend Marcus — a developer who'd spent a decade at Shopify — and said five words: "Help me build this thing."
